We express our concerns regarding the Housing in Neighbourhoods to our Councillors
We recommend resolving ambiguities in Multiplex regulations with improved definitions and stricter enforcement mechanisms.
Before proceeding, we recommend further study and testing to ensure this policy supports sustainable intensification rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
We urge Council to ensure that City Planning reports back on a comprehensive equitable engagement plan that reflects and clarifies that rezonings will not be assumed or automatic.
Toronto’s residents deserve thoughtful planning decisions that balance housing needs with neighbourhood integrity. We ask that councillors introduce amendments to these three proposals to strengthen definitions, ensure data-driven decision-making, and improve public engagement. Listening to residents and refining these policies will ensure that housing expansion is both effective and sustainable for our communities.
